Investigators: Anna Ralph, Alex Brown, Keith Edwards, Marea Fittock, Vicki Krause.
Aims: This is a non-randomised pilot intervention in selected communities, aiming to explain, explore, and evaluate the role of crowding in households of individuals with known ARF/RHD. The study will test the feasibility of a community led-model of care for individuals with ARF/RHD and their households with the aim to reduce the burden of Group A Streptococcus. It is a pragmatic study employing implementation science, qualitative approaches, as well as quantitative measures.
Timelines: Human Research Ethics Committee submission expected June 2017; project commencement expected July 2017; project completion expected July 2018.
